Well Plurk had it’s first major downtime today, following on the heels of Twitter and other rapidly growing services. What was scheduled to be a one hour break has so far (and it is still down at time of typing) almost seven hours. This has left people with nothing to do. From Australia, through Europe to the US, plurkers have been hitting the F5 key in the vain hope that their beloved timeline would reappear, all to no avail.
But what is the big deal, why the concern from users around the globe? Do they fear this latest social networking phenomena will bite the dust? Is it because they have been unable to talk to friends far and wide? Is it because they have had to work and face the realities of everyday life once more? No! The real reason for the concern is the fear that when Plurk finally returns, their Karma will have fallen through the floor…
