Romans, coming over here making us use their dating system…
The Cornish word Gortheren literally means the end of summer. Wait, hold on, the end of summer already? We’ve only just had the solstice, talk about wishing our lives away. However, the term summer, in this case, refers to the growing season.
My growing season
I have just done a six-month review. The aim is to see where I am and where I want to be etc. My projects are growing and coming along well. They still need time to develop before they bear fruit, so the review tied in well with thinking about the final month of growing.
You can probably tell I like to think in metaphor. One aspect of my personality is that I can become bored with things. I can go from intense focussed energy on a project, forsaking all other aspects of life bar breathing, to complete indifference as I look around for something a little more interesting to challenge my grey matter. Metaphor helps me with focussed project retention… until I get bored with the current metaphor.
I am looking forward to the harvest, but there is still plenty of growth to come, at least a whole month’s worth.
Happy Gortheren my friends
