Now we are six

But now I am Six,
I’m as clever as clever,
So I think I’ll be six now for ever and ever.

Now we are six
A A Milne

It is time to sing happy birthday again. In 2004 I began to blog. Originally on blogger and then onto my own self-hosted wordpress install. I haven’t been too regular over the years and I still haven’t found the blogging equivalent of prune juice.

Still to break tradition I thought I’d give you a present. Below is a video of a song I really like and one that sums up a lot of what is current in popular culture today. Everything is a copy, of a copy, of a copy to quote one of my favourite books.

The song is a cover version.
The video is a mash-up of a french classic movie and the song.
And if you reblog on tumblr, then this could become a reblog, of a reblog, of a reblog.

Back to the future – theme change

I have decided to change the theme on here… yet again.

I recently upgraded to WordPress 3.0 and the bundled set theme was so nice and clean that I have decided to go along with it, play around with it and see where it takes me.

I don’t know if I’ll keep it long term but for the moment it will help me focus on the content of this place. Following on from my ‘not to do’ list I have decided not to waste time trying to build my own theme. That project is on hold for a little while.

So, here you have it. I am now using the Twenty Ten theme and the first thing I need to do is create a new header to make things a little more personal.

Let’s begin again

All change for 2010:

  • a new year
  • a new decade (although for pedants you can argue the point)
  • a new theme (working on it – but until it is finished I’m keeping things simple)
  • a new day job
  • a blog with purpose
  • a better me (that’s a work in progress for sure)

It won’t all happen at once but then does anything? But as we transition from one place to another it seemed the perfect time to transition things here too.

And so a thought for 2010, as it sneaks past the bouncers and makes its way to the bar…

Be proactive; don’t be defined by others, their prejudices and their judgement calls, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made so be that.
