I watched Chris and Sally kiss. It was…
This week’s Friday Fiction Writing Prompt is all about a kiss. However, you or the narrator is not the one doing the kissing. The scene is from the first person perspective and the narrator is watching the kiss. The rest is up to you.
You can take this down the jealous, or jilted lover route. How does the narrator feel about seeing the act and how will they respond? You can take it down the proud matchmaker route. Has the narrator been plotting and planning this moment for a while? It could be at the wedding of the kissers. The moment when the kiss between the betrothed takes place. What happens next?
As always there are no rules. Feel free to change the names of the characters involved. I used Chris and Sally as generic names, and names which had no close relationship to myself. As an author/writer that is always a difficult aspect to handle. Names so often carry connotations for us, and for the reader.
How many former unloved acquaintances have been murdered, or met some grisly demise on the pages of a novel… you do that… don’t you?
Write and enjoy, no word count, just pen and paper or keyboard and screen.
