Not all bruises are visible

Kat’s world fell apart when she lost her premature baby. Kat recovered from this event… but we never ‘recover’ from events of this magnitude, we learn to live with them. And as the story unfolds we find out how Kat has lived with them.

Lucy lays bear the emotional pain of someone carrying this burden amid other revelations past and present. Kat is a believable character with whom we share an emotional decent. As the story unfolds we travel to Kat’s past, her disintegrating present and … well, the rest is for you to read.

Bruised Banana is a great read. Kat’s pain is clear. There are powerful phrases that bring the pain to life, nostalgic memories of childhood that bring a wry smile (to those of us old enough to remember such things) and a weaving narrative that grabs and holds your attention till the very end – and then leaves you with a lovely little itch somewhere at the back of your head as you read the final words.

Even the nickname, given to a character named ‘Darren’, didn’t stop me from enjoying this 🙂 . Bruised Banana is available for the kindle here and is well worth the pennies. Have an Amazon voucher to spend, then Bruised Banana.
