My next two recycled art pieces are now complete… ish. I can’t say I’m overly happy about the first one, another painting on a gift card. However, the challenge wasn’t to be happy, but to create art from rubbish. Therefore, I have achieved what I set out to do, albeit art in its broadest sense. Here’s the image anyway, I ended up jazzing it up through pixlr express on the iPhone to make it look a little more interesting.
The next piece was originally the box that my contact lenses came in. Once again the white gesso came in handy. I painted the box and then glued on some text… I did read The Guardian first though, and I can tell you it was pretty left-wing and liberal, so all is well in newspaper land. I like the idea of art being tactile and also being more than just something to look at… interactive if you like.
Anyway, here it is. I made a vine of it. You can view it below, or on vine.
Ten more pieces to go.
