We’re told it’s the saddest ‘bluest’ day of the year. Post holidays, post New Year and the credit card bills are arriving. It’s a blue day. It’s Blue Monday, probably.
…I’m quite sure that you’ll tell me.Just how I should feel today.
Blue Monday, New Order
Do we need to be told we’ll feel blue?
I feel blue, but it has little to do with the mathematical probability of the Blue Monday equation. I lack an understanding. I want to solve the problems of the world, or just my friends and family. I want to right wrongs, in some cases.
There are always things that can bring us down.
There are always things that can lift us up.

It’s all too easy to be up or down. As we have more time on our hands, we have more time to think and worry. Our modern lives are no longer filled with working the land from sunrise to sunset just to feed ourselves. The supermarket does that for us. Now we have time to sit, think… and worry.
Especially on Mondays, and particularly Blue Monday.
Sitting down and looking out the window and thinking is not the best thing for me to do today, probably. It probably isn’t for you either.
