The irony is not lost on me. The computer calendar tells me that the New Moon is rising. The point of my Lunar intentions ritual is to plan and link some personal development goals to natural events and seasons. Yet it seems I can’t quite keep away from tech and the traditional weekly, monthly, yearly calendar either.
Having said that I am noticing that I am getting somewhere. The past few moon cycles I have tried to work on making time and rituals that enable me to write and make music. As I sat down to look at this New Moon Intention, I realised I have begun to see some fruit, or at least the blossom.
It means that my focus for the next 28 days is to keep going as I have been and develop what is working. In addition to my new writing and music rituals, (I use the word rituals because I like to be pretentious 😛 – it’s basically just a process) I want to reinforce my night-time shutdown ritual, close off the screens, review my day in the diary and read a little more. I am doing these things but not with the regularity and dedication that I want.
Two things I want to explore and bring to my daily routine are personal time and spiritual time. The personal time is all about switching off from work. My work time is split between a part-time role and freelance/self-employed projects. I like this, but it does make it very easy to never stop working. I want to make sure I have non-work time. Perhaps in relation to this, I want to find out what my spirit time is. At the moment that is quite a nebulous project, so this cycle I want to try to narrow it down. It could be as simple as regular beach walks, or it might mean running away to a hippie commune… I’m open to all possibilities 🙂
Now time to get back to today’s rituals.
