It could be about a death and resurrection. It could be about fertility and fecundity. It could be about redemption and nationhood. Pascha. Eostre. Passover. To name just three.
One theme runs through each of these metaphors; life.
They can be myth and legend. They can be story and narrative. They can be historical and literal.
One theme remains the same, independent of their being; life.
There might be a chocolate egg. Created for the sole purpose of profit and pleasure. A shelf-filler that cares little for what it represents.
Even here, one theme can be found; an egg: life.
As winter recedes in the Northern Hemisphere new life emerges. Flowers and trees begin to bloom. New shoots burst forth from the earth. Spring lambs leap and bound.
When we find the outside there is a common consensus; life.
I remember a slogan from the 80s, it might be relevant.
