A Compilation of Sundries is a quick weekly review of what I have been doing. Partly for me and partly for the blog, and therefore, you. The weather hasn’t been great. It rained a lot. It was grey a lot. I don’t like the grey. I don’t mind the rain, just not the grey.
Bullet Journal
I moved my BuJo into a Bullet Journal Leuchtturm1917. I mentioned some dissatisfaction with using my Midori as my Bullet Journal and made the leap. Part of what pLAnarchy is about is changing your planner system if it isn’t working, however much time and effort you have put into the one you are using. I’ll have more about this in future posts. And pLAnarchy has some new stuff on the way…
How to write…
A Ticket To Write is now live with Write a Short Story and I am now working on Write a Memoir. If you have an urge to write but don’t know where to start. Visit the website and sign up for the class.
Freelance writing
I had a little Freelance work. I finished that this week. It is always good to do something a little different. It helps to be directed in what to write. And, of course, a little income is also greatly appreciated.
Sometimes the sun came out. When it did. Things got a little steampunk.
The Artist’s Way
I began working through The Artist’s Way Workbook by Julia Cameron. I was looking for something a little different to try this Lent (I am always looking to deepen my spirituality, and Lent always prompts me) and I like the way Julia Cameron links creativity with spirituality, or as a spiritual exercise.
Reading: Brass Man by Neal Asher
Book three of the Ian Cormac series, and the 5th, chronologically, of the Polity series, if I have worked it out correctly. I love a good action, space opera that I can get my teeth into. Mr Asher is one of the best authors around at building worlds and creating a believable future.
Watching: Patriot
Ok – you need to read that very slowly like someone is saying OK, but they are not really. Patriot is borderline pretentious. It is sometimes achingly slow. It is convoluted. It is over-simplistic. The characters are all caricatures. The characters are all believable. I think Patriot could be genius. See what you think.
FAWM
I didn’t get to write 14 songs in 28 days. I managed about 10 or 11. I did enjoy it though and I still intend to finish the tracks I have.
That’s about it for this Compilation of Sundries
