It is dark.
It has been getting darker.
We asked our ancestors, the saints, for help at Samhain and the day of Hallows. But the darkness increased.
Now the days are short, so short.
Other senses have become attuned.
Lack of vision leads to more listening.
Scents and smells have clarified.
Touch, to feel, is heightened, either for warmth or to find our way.
Now it is quiet and dark.
The lesser light rules.
It illuminates a little. It doesn’t keep us warm.
It pushes and pulls.
It has a rhythm and cycle of its own.
The light will return.
It always does.
Life is a cycle.
Light to dark. Dark to light.
Warmth to cold. Cold to warmth.
This is the turning point, the tipping point.
From one time to another.
As the light returns, what will it reveal in our lives?
